【學習和一棟老房相處】－ 萬屋砌室

先前從事建築工作，目前主要接室內設計的小又，已在台南定居多年，對他來說，日常生活要買的東西在哪座城市都能方便取得，加上新的建築往往讓他覺得不夠細膩、成不了經典，因此移居台南這座富含故事的城市便成為很自然而然的決定。

小又說自己一直很喜歡台南的步調，認為台南像塊很好發揮的畫布，在這裡容易找到興趣相近的人，齊聚眾人的力量要做什麼似乎都不是太困難的事情，在這裡基本的消費可以負荷、房租又較低、年輕人得以有更多發展機會，民間力量持續往好的方向發展，這些理由都是小又喜歡上台南的軌跡。

萬屋砌室的核心成員包括小又共有六人，命名來自於漫畫《銀魂》中什麼都可能發生的「萬事通屋」，加上成員多有建築背景、喜愛動手自己實作因而命名為「萬屋砌室」，這裡不只做為工作室，更核心的價值在於透過空間規劃讓更多人能走進這間已有90歲的日軍宿舍老房，感受其中的故事。

2015年進駐以來，萬屋砌室曾辦過展覽、講座，對於小又來說，一直很期待接下來還有什麼好玩的事情會在這裡發生，藉由不同的活動，進而吸引不同喜好、背景的人進來這棟老房，學習如何小心使用房子、和一個空間相處，是比起好玩更重要的部分。

今年年初時，幾間台南朋友開的店一起在萬屋內擺了五桌宴席做為尾牙，是很特別的經驗。先前一任居住在此空間的人是歷史系教授，他不想改動房子太多，希望盡可能維持老房本身的模樣。而對小又來說，他不喜歡掩飾房子被人住過的痕跡，雖然一開始曾苦惱於萬屋應該有著怎麼樣的個性，幸而和其他夥伴一同放入喜歡的元素之後，風格便自然長成模樣，房子本身，即是迷人。

對萬屋來說，每棟房子都有自己的命，什麼樣的人住進去會賦予其個性，修古蹟的使命應當在於除了必要的整理外，不應做舊或者刻意復古。使用或受傷的歲月印記都是可以直接面對稱之為美的部分。

Sin-ye was an architect before he moved to Tainan several years ago. Now he mainly does interior design projects. For him, it was a natural decision to move to Tainan cuz it’s easy to buy everything you need for daily life in any city, but the great taste toward architect brought him to this historical and lovely city.

For Sin-ye, Tainan is a city welcomes everyone. It’s easy to meet people with similar interests, dreams do really become real when people gathering and working hard together. Several reasons for anyone hard not to fall in love with Tainan are: house rents here are much cheaper than in other cities in Taiwan; young people have more opportunities to achieve what they want; locals care about this city and willing to do everything to make here better, to preserve the culture, to pass down the history. It’s like a city with real story without fancy illusion.

There are six people including Sin-ye who organized Tainan One House together. The concept of the name came from comic books titled ‘Gintama’, there’s a house in the story means everything can happen there. Team members of Tainan One House mainly have architecture background; they not only want to make the space into studio, what they really care is how to invite people get a chance to visit this 90-years-old Japanese dorm house, feel the story and building by their own visit.

After opening in 2015, Tainan One House had held exhibitions, lectures and many other events. For them, they are looking forward for further events with all kinds, they want to attract different people to visit the houses and learn how to use a house carefully, to set up a steady relationship with a space, these are what matters than just have fun.

The beginning of this year, several friends who open shops in Tainan set up a cater in Tainan One House, the party was a huge success to celebrate whole year’s effort and welcome the new one. The person who lived in the house was professor of History Department; all of them don’t want to make huge change to the old house. For Sin-ye, it’s weird to hide the trace of houses being used, though they were worried about how to define the style of One House, after putting things selected by team members, it proved that the anxious were unnecessary. The house itself proves its style called charming. For the team of Tainan One House, they think every house has its own destiny. When there are people living in the house, he makes the house with personality like his. The ultimate way to renovate old houses is only fix the must fix part and leave all the scars of time remain.
