Jenny was born in Tainan, majored in Mass Communication studied in Taipei. When she graduated from university, there were plenty news job and she decided to move back to Tainan working as a reporter in local television. She got the chances to have connected with many local people and fell in love with their lifestyle and culture immediately. After doing report job for over a year, Jenny went studying in National Tainan University, majoring in Graduate Institute of Studies in Documentary & Film Archiving, decided to record local culture in more various ways. In the same time, she started devoted herself as a volunteer in Hai-Chien-Ying Studio (Now named as Hai-Chien-Ying Culture and Arts Foundation).
In 2010, Jenny, Yu Wei and Chia Jung organized Tou South Wind Studio, they mainly doing job of community development and film, and they based in old Tainan county. Back in 2010 was the year that government merged Tainan county and city together. They were worried that after the change, story of county will become marginalization. That’s the first reason why they started the publication, introducing traditional skills, industry and local story to their readers, and share the warm they feel. For them, the concept of living in south is contacting with land, eat proper according to season, see the landscape in countryside and feel the change of natural, to communicate with local people.
In 2016 of July, they organized their studio to become a cafeteria, emphasize everyone can meet up with each other, to talk about food, land and people these three essential items of daily life. They want to gather up people with similar lifestyle like Ditto bakery which sharing same space with them and providing natural ingredients breads. Now Tou South Wind not only have their publications, running a cafeteria, they also doing tourism planning, community development and culture preserve.
