一走進啊雜貨，通常會先留意到來自京都的線香，讓旅人的心情瞬間放鬆。專賣日本情感設計的選物店－啊雜貨，店長孟彥（以下簡稱店長）因為對於日本漫畫和公仔的喜好而讀了日文系，一直對於安靜的城市有所偏好，畢業後選擇去京都留學。從小對於美術相關事物很有興趣的他，選擇了兩年制的京都藝術設計專門學校，專攻生活雜貨。對當時的店長來說，可以在古都中尋找生活的靈感、觀察學習日本的傳統文化、欣賞寺廟建築之美，是很珍貴的美好經驗。在學期間，從傳統製圖、印刷、素描、水彩、企劃發想、提案各種類別都有專門的課程，學校主要以培養就職能力為主。

畢業後店長的第一份工作是在製作和雜貨為主的京都老店－龍虎堂RYUKODO，擔任設計工作。考究歷史和注重細節的日本文化，工作期間讓店長更加了解到每個習俗背後各自的文化典故，也反思了有時人們因為不了解典故，因而產生不合時宜誠如在一年四季都想見到鯉魚旗的念頭。而後店長在專做紙傘的日吉屋HIYOSHIYA學習職人的工匠精神，這段期間也漸漸奠定啊雜貨的走向，對他來說「開一間療癒選物店」就應該名符其實的只做好一件事情。

回台灣後店長曾在台北的廣告公司工作，對於一切強調效率和速度的模式不太能適應。累積了很多＂啊雜＂的感覺，在友人的介紹下決定搬來台南實踐自己的夢想，除了希望每個人走出去後都能感受到滿滿的療癒感外，五十音的あ（啊）又是第一個字母，店長覺得＂啊雜貨＂這名字因而有＂從頭開始的祝福＂之意涵。

2014年搬到台南，店長說台南是座和他童年有緊密連結的城市。麻豆阿蘭碗粿、東帝士百貨、中國城都是他的回憶。2017年的啊雜貨，店長期許除了選物之外，也能放進自己的創作系列，今年的最終目標是推廣在地的區域性文化。在啊雜貨裡，人們可以思考對於生活必需品的各種想像，而對店長來說，啊雜貨有著在生活中釋懷，釋懷後再前進的意思。

The first thing you may notice when you enter Aza Zakka House, mostly will be the nice smell from incense, making every traveler feeling relaxing. The owner, Swallow
majored in Japanese due to the interests to Japanese comics and action figure. He has strong preference to quiet city so he chose to study in Kyoto Institute of Design. For him, it was a precious time to find muse in such historical city, observe traditional culture of Japan and appreciate their temple’s architecture. They learned the skill of traditional painting, printing, sketching, water coloring, and the ability to work according to interests after graduation.

The first job Swallow did was working in the old brand making lucky cat in Kyoto, he got the chances to understand the stories behind their culture, and how lifestyle is when combining the culture. After the experience of making lucky cat for two years, Swallow then went to another traditional brand learning how to make paper umbrella, and deeply experience Japanese unique culture that doing one thing well through whole life may be valuable. During the time he decided to open a place to comfort people, and only doing this is already enough.

After living five years in Kyoto, he moved back to Taipei and worked in an advertisement company, he felt it was hard to get used to the mode of emphasizing speed and time, and he felt life shall be much more simple and casual. With the introduction by friends, he moved to Tainan, this quiet city like he always likes, to achieve his dream. The name Aza not only means the bad mood with complex, the word pronounces, A also is the first character in Japanese, which Swallow thinks means the beginning of wishes.

Moved to Tainan in 2014, Swallow says Tainan is a city connected to his childhood. A-lan Savory rice pudding in Madou, Tongtex Department store and China Town are all in his memory. The goal in 2017 of Aza Zakka House will be promoting Taiwan’s local culture, and he is planning to have his own artwork being displayed as well. For Swallow, Aza Zakka House is a space that people can have diverse imagination toward daily needs, people have to let things go in life, and move on to next stop.
